作家「何がですか？」
店員「私は文才なんか一切ないもんで、文章を書ける人は尊敬しますよホント」
作家「はぁ」
店員「小説ってどうやって書いていくもんなんですか？」
作家「あの・・・すいませんけど、締め切りが近いもんで」
店員「失礼しました、お忙しいところ申し訳ありません」
作家「いや・・・小説ってどうやっったら書けるんですかねぇ」
店員「は？」
作家「はは・・・恥ずかしい話なんですけどわからなくなっちゃって」
店員「あの、よくはわかりませんけど、スランプってやつですか？」
作家「いや・・・元々僕には才能なんかなかったのかもしれないです」
店員「・・・そんな事ないでしょう、先生の作品面白いですよ、私は好きですよ、
　　　死霊病棟24時、あれは怖かったなぁ・・・」
作家「もう20年も前の作品ですよ」
店員「いや、いいものはいいですよ、あと日本ホラー大賞になった
　　　死体の多いフレンチレストランとか」
作家「思えばあれが僕の全盛期でした・・・いまじゃあ仕事もたまに短編の依頼があるくらいで、
　　　もう終わってますよ」
店員「でも今回のは久々の長編小説だと言ってたじゃないですか」
作家「・・・ええ、おそらくもう一度表舞台に立てる最後のチャンスだと思います」
店員「先生なら大丈夫ですよ、きっと最高のホラー小説が書けますって」
作家「・・・・」
店員「私も一読者として楽しみにしてるんで頑張って下さい」
作家「ホラーじゃないんです」
店員「え？」
作家「僕にきた依頼は・・・・恋愛小説なんです」
