| 説明 | アフリカの広大なサバンナ。 動物達の王国プライドランドの王であるムファサは、息子シンバに「サークル・オブ・ライフ（生命の連鎖）」の理念について教える。しかしまだ子供であるシンバは幼馴染のナラと遊んでばかり。一方ムファサの弟スカーは、プライドランドを我が物にしようと画策していた。 ある日、スカーはシンバを峡谷へと誘い出しヌーの暴走を引き起こす。駆けつけたムファサがシンバを救い出したものの、ムファサ自身は命を落としてしまった。 心に深い傷を負ったシンバは、プライドランドを出て、遠く離れたジャングルでティモンとプンバァの2人組に出逢う。「ハクナ・マタタ（気にするな）」という言葉に励まされ成長したシンバであったが、大人になったナラと再会し、再び自身の定められた地位と向き合うことになる… |
