１２月１８日午後、新宿眼科画廊地下で上演された、みどり人 ＃１８公演『happiest』を観た。これは、前回の公演を観て気になる劇団だったのと、今月上旬池袋で観た朗読ライブ『ショパンの馬鹿』の初演の演出が、みどり人主宰さいじょうゆきであったことを偶然知ったからである。
登場人物は、交通誘導員(警備員)で舞台好きな独身中年の丸茂照美、同じアパートで丸茂の隣室の住人でFTMである表駆流、丸茂がファンである劇団の面々。それぞれが孤独の中でささやかな幸せを見つけて頑張って生きている生き様を、９０分の中で描いている。その中心となる存在が、丸茂であった。
セットや客席の配置など、新宿眼科画廊地下の狭い空間を上手く生かした演出の加え、登場人物の幸福感と孤独感をしみじみと演じきる役者達の存在感が秀逸。特に、丸茂役そぎたにそぎ助は独特の雰囲気を持っていたし、ベテラン辻川幸代の存在も大きかった。小劇場界という狭い世界の中ではあるけれど華やかに見える役者の孤独感、その演劇にささやかな幸せを見つけていた丸茂。いやぁ、演出と役者の演技がしみじみと融合し、大きく心を動かされた訳ではないのにラストでジワッと目頭が熱くなる。くも膜下出血で急死した丸茂に思いをはせる劇団員たちや駆流の存在は、死んでも実は孤独ではなかった丸茂の幸せな一面を垣間見るようであった。
作・演出さいじょうゆきの力が物を言った作品である。 -

”観劇おじさん”という、世間一般では認知度が低いであろう存在を題材に選んだのはチャレンジングでしたが、全体として丁寧に作られた芝居であり良い作品でした。役者さんの演技もしっかりしています。

感情移入とは何も自分と同じ境遇だからするとは限らないことを強く実感できた作品でした。
たとえ生活環境や性格、性別さえも違っていても、今何を思い何に苦しんでいるのかしっかり伝わってくる人物を目の前にした時、その人物の喜びや哀しみがダイレクトに突き刺さってくる醍醐味。
鋭い観察眼、それをしっかり演じきった全ての登場人物の姿に逐一頷き、そしてついつい笑わかされてしまいますが、時折襲ってくるヒリヒリする痛み。
この痛みがきっと「孤独」という厄介な感情なのでしょう。
作者の視点は意地悪いほどに人の言動を掌握しており、それが故にひょっとして人間嫌いなのではないかと思えたりするのですが、いやいや人間愛がしっかり根底に流れておりました。
もう、どうしようもなく泣けてきます。 -

みどり人は、2018年 この新宿眼科画廊（東京都）で3公演行っており、すべて観させていただいた。本公演は、日常という身近な世間話に、人が持つ「孤独」と「触れ合い（ふれ愛）」といった感情、その計り知れない人生観を取り込んだ滋味溢れる内容。少しネタバレするが、某劇団の活動という等身大の設定である。また、いくつかの小ネタが仕込まれており、それを物語にしっかり取り込む巧みさ。
3公演に共通した魅力は、人間観察をしっかり行い、人の感情や心情をシャープに切り取って観せる、その面白さである。その脚本・演出をしっかり具現化していたのが役者陣、実に観応えのある作品であった。
