説明 16歳の誕生日を迎えたマーメイド。誕生日に呼ばれなかった魔女がマーメイドの美しい声に憧れ、その声を奪おうとするが、海の王によって阻止される。地上を冒険することになったマーメイドは、船が難破し溺れかけている王子を助けるが、人間のソニアという女性が、助けたのは自分と偽り王子と婚約をする。そこへ人間になることと引き換えに声を奪うことを画策した魔女との取引に応じてしまうマーメイド。王子に助けたのは自分だと伝えたいマーメイドだが、声を失ったことでその想いをつたえるこができなかった。そして王子とソニアの結婚式。ソニアにもう一度歌ってほしいと王子が話すと、歌うことが出来ず助けたのは別人であったことが明るみに出てしまった。


そのころ、魔女は海の王と戦いに敗れマーメイドに声が戻る。人間界に別れを告げ、海に帰ろうとするマーメイドの歌声を聞いた王子は、彼女こそ自分を助けてくれた人だと気づき二人は結ばれるのであった。
