説明 【あらすじ】
人気小説家、桐野範容の描く超絶サイコサスペンス『ザ・プレイヤー』シリーズの最新刊が発売された。女刑事水越貴理子をまき込んだ天才殺人鬼の殺人ゲームは巻を重ねるごとに激化していく。最高傑作との呼び声も高いその新作を、待ち望んでいた読者たちが手にする。物語に浸る幸福な読書体験。それを遮ったのは、本に挟まれていた１枚の紙片だった。

『私の小説の登場人物になりませんか？』

あやしげな文句に惹かれ集まったのは熱心な愛読者たち。池袋駅近くの廃墟に招かれた彼らの前に、桐野範容を名乗る人物が現れる。
「登場人物として、殺人鬼『プレイヤー』のゲームに参加してください」
参加した読者たちの行動をもとに、桐野がこれから新作を書こうというのだ。自分の大好きな小説の登場人物になれる。迷わず参加を決めた彼らに、殺人ゲームのルールが説明される。
殺人鬼に指定された今回のゲームは『鬼ごっこ』だった。
「それでは、ゲームを始めましょう」
作家桐野範容の『想像の世界』を舞台にして、天才殺人鬼が鬼となる『恐怖の鬼ごっこ』が始まる。



ルール
・行動範囲は豊島区限定とする。決して区外に出てはならない。
・ゲームは１３時に開始し、１４時に終了することとする。
・以上のルール内であれば何をしても構わない。
・鬼にタッチされたら負けとなり『罰』を受ける。
その他注意事項 未就学児童入場不可
